Services > ASHRAE 110 Fume Hood Testing

ASHRAE 110 standard governs testing of fume hoods. Fume hoods are used to contain contaminants and protect people from inhaling chemicals. This standard provides a repeatable, consistent method to measure the effectiveness of fume hoods. There are 3 parts to this procedure: face velocity measurement, smoke visualization and tracer gas containment.

In addition to this ASHRAE 110 standard that governs how to test fume hoods, ANSI/ASSE Z9.5-2012 American National Standard for Laboratory Ventilation provides guidance recommending annual testing of ventilation systems to ensure continued safe operation. We recommend our clients follow this ANSI standard in their labs.

We provide all 3 tests fulfilling the fume hood testing requirements for ASHRAE 110.
