BPI Testing, LLC is certified by NEBB to perform Vibration Measurement. As of August 2019, our firm is the only firm in the state of Illinois with this certification. Excessive vibration in HVAC equipment leads to equipment issues like shorter life spans and sound issues in spaces. Some specifications require HVAC equipment to meet vibration standards. By measuring vibration, we can demonstrate whether the equipment meets these standards or use general vibration severity criteria to classify the vibration level. Also, basic vibration analysis can assist with resolution of the vibration issues by providing likely causes of vibration such as differentiating between fan balance issues, bent shafts, misalignment or bearing issues.
